BIO

My name is Sefa Emre İlikli. I was born on December 17th, 1989. I started playing the violin in 2005.

I was born and raised in Ankara, Turkey. I went to elementary and high school in Ankara. I studied Translation and Interpretation (English-Turkish-French) in Bilkent University and graduated in 2012.

I have a sister; her name is Merve and she’s one year older than me. You can see her in my FAQ video.

I currently work as a freelance translator and I mostly translate novels. I translated the Legend series by Marie Lu, the last four books of the Heir Chronicles by Cinda Williams Chima, Fire & Flood by Victoria Scott, The Secret Fire by C.J Daugherty, Jackaby by William Ritter, The Mime Order by Samantha Shannon and I am currently working on the comics of the Legend series by Marie Lu. I enjoy working with books.

I started playing the violin in high school as a hobby and it’s been one of my favorite things to do since then. After graduating, I decided to play the songs and pieces I like with my violin and make videos. The response was great, and I am grateful to everyone for supporting my passion.

I took up the piano a few years ago and I love it so far.

I love traveling, painting, watching anime and reading manga, swimming, trying different kinds of food, playing video games, watching movies and cooking for my friends.

I play the covers by ear, and don’t have/use music sheet. But if I do, I will let you know.

I play a not-very-expensive, handmade German violin made in 2005. I use Pirastro Chromcor strings. And a carbon-fiber bow. I also own a Harley Benton Ferrari Red Electric Violin.

Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
